This week is RHA’s National Coach Week – The UK coach sector employees around 45,000 people across approximately 700 coach operators, handling 400 million passenger journeys, contributing around £6bn to the UK economy each year.
To celebrate National Coach Week, this week, the Women in Bus and Coach “Spotlight On” initiative shines a light on the incredible contributions of women in all roles across the coach sector.

How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up in my family business.
Did you experience any challenges getting to where you are today?
Quite a bit of negativity from other drivers saying how difficult it is pass!
If so, how did you overcome them?
Passed everything first time and within 10 days of my 18th birthday.
What do you like about the sector?
Having been raised in the industry I love everything about it and no days up to now are ever the same.
What does a typical day look like?

What advice would you give to women thinking about a career in the bus and coach sector?
The support and training is out there for you! Go for it girls…
What has been your coach Sector career highlight?
As I’ve just passed my test, I’m sure my highlight is out there waiting for me.
Where do you see yourself in 5 year’ time?
Hopefully still out and about on the riads, maybe even abroad – we’ll see!
