Spotlight On is our way of recognising and celebrating women working right across the bus, coach and community transport sector, at every level, in every role, and wherever they are in their career.
Whether you’re a driver, engineer, planner, leader, apprentice or working behind the scenes, Spotlight On is about shining a light on the people who keep our sector moving and help shape where it’s going.
Why we're doing this
Women are still underrepresented in much of our sector. And too often, their stories and achievements don't get the spotlight they deserve. We want to change that.
By sharing real stories from real women, we’re aiming to:
- Show the breadth of roles that exist in the sector
- Challenge some of the outdated assumptions people still have
- Inspire others to think about starting or progressing a career in our sector
- Celebrate the everyday contributions as much as the big wins
Every story matters. There’s no such thing as too small or too ordinary, they all help paint a fuller picture of what our industry actually looks like.
Who can get involved?
Anyone. If you're a woman working in bus, coach or community transport, you're welcome to take part.
It doesn’t matter if you:
- Started last week or have decades of experience
- Drive a bus or work in an office
- Lead a team or are finding your feet
- Took a straight path into the sector or ended up here another way
You don’t need to be nominated. You don’t need awards or a fancy job title. If you’ve got something to share, we want to hear it.
What happens after you submit?
Our team will review what you send us, and we’ll feature selected stories on our website and social media.
