Women in Bus and Coach is thrilled to announce the launch of its Northern Region Group. This new regional group will create a dedicated support network for women working in Northern England, fostering mentorship, professional development, and local engagement within the industry.
Joining the existing London Region Group, the Northern Region Group marks the next phase in Women in Bus and Coach’s mission to build a nationwide network that addresses regional needs and provides greater access to industry resources and support. Women in Bus and Coach plans to establish additional regional groups in the future, enhancing representation and ensuring that women in every part of the UK can thrive within the sector.
The Northern Region Group will be led by Kayleigh Ingham, Commercial Director for First Bus North & West Yorkshire, who brings transport industry experience and a long-standing commitment to advancing gender diversity and inclusion. Members of this new group will benefit from tailored events, regional workshops, and unique networking opportunities designed to address the specific challenges faced by women in the Northern region’s bus, coach and community transport sectors.
Louise Cheeseman Chair of Women in Bus and Coach, expressed her excitement about this development, stating, “The launch of our Northern Region Group is a key milestone in our mission to provide women across the UK with the support, resources, and community they need to succeed in the bus, coach and community transport industry. With the Northern Group joining our existing London Group, we’re already seeing the value of these regional networks, and we look forward to launching more in the future.”
